Fighting Games
Fighting Games I've got in rotation, who I play, etc.
- Melty Blood: Type Lumina
-

Main- Saber
Secondaries- Arcuied
This game got me back into fighting games. I wouldn't be playing as many as I do now if I hadn't seen Ducky and Balantine playing MBTL at my local con. It's really easy to pick up on account of Rapid Beat. I like auto-combos as a concept because they make it decently easy to try out a new character or a new game and still do pretty decent damage. Granted, as I improved as a player I found just going "2A>2B>2C" has worked in a lot of games. - Melty Blood: Actress Again -Current Code-

Main- H.Arcuied
Secondaries- H.Satsuki
MBAACC is a classic for a reason. I'm not great at it, but I always have fun playing it. I picked up Arcuied because I was already playing her in TL, but my muscle memory fucked with me so bad that I ended up playing Saber in MBTL instead. After reading Tsukihime I became too much of a Satsuki enjoyer to not at least TRY her in MBAACC.- Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

Main- Yosuke/Yu
Secondaries- Yu/Nu
BBTag was my introduction to the FGC. Back in 2020, I saw a game on sale that had... Persona and RWBY characters on the cover? This was something I HAD TO check out. I'm glad that urge overtook me because BBTag is a game that KICKS SO MUCH ASS.
It's a tag fighter that simplifies its motion inputs down to just 236 and 214s and adds an auto combo system in exchange for adding super complex mechanics like being able to active-switch to your assist character DURING their assist or being able to control both characters at once with the Cross Combo system. On top of that, the game rewards you with stat buffs for effectively utilizng the tag system over the course of a round.- Under Night In-Birth II - Sys:Celeste
Main- Eltnum
I only seriously started playing UNI2 at the end of 2025. At present, I'm in the middle of my training arc for CBF Isekai 2026. Why didn't I learn a normal-person game like Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8? Well, as you can gather(s under night) by the list of games above, I'm a weird little pervert who loves to airdash.
UNI2 is kind of like a half-step between MBAACC and MBTL, both in terms of mechanics and difficulty. It has an auto combo system (Smart Steer) that would later evolve into Rapid Beat in Type Lumina and most characters have a kind of toned-back version of MBAACC's Reverse Beat system that lets you cancel higher level normals into lower level ones. I think I prefer Smart Steer to Rapid Beat because it can ONLY activate off of A normals, which insentivizes learning how my kit works and practicing a few strings and combos even if I feel like I do less damage on average than a Smart Steer combo. You can even practice strings that open your opponent up FOR your smart steer combo.
As Eltnum I like "2C>5C>214C>Dash>5AAAAA"
